Around 60,000 people in the UK will be diagnosed with mouth cancer over the next decade. In the UK, over 7,700 people were diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2011. We perform mouth cancer screening to look for signs of cancer or precancerous conditions in your mouth. The goal of mouth cancer screening is to identify mouth cancer early, when there is a greater chance for a cure.

Mouth cancer screening

Oral cancer is a generalized term for any type of cancer found in or near the mouth and throat.

The assessment itself is completely non-invasive which means there is no pain.

The dentist will use the appropriate examination method to facilitate diagnosis and detection of anything that could potentially be abnormal. The examination and screening takes only a few minutes. Also, the results of the screening are given immediately.

Oral cancer screening and examination of your mouth allows for early detection.  This means that in the unlikely event of a cancer diagnosis you are more likely to have a better and improved prognosis.

Doctor Bob To has helped number of his patients with oral cancer by detecting it early and directing patients to receive prompt treatment.
